Rejected!

The New Castle Democrats are ignoring the basic principles of democracy. The clubhouse politicians do not want to give voters the opportunity to decide at the polls who will represent the Democrats. Rob Greenstein and Lisa Katz are Democrats. Adam Brodsky is an independent.

Since Adam is an Independent, he needed to request a waiver from the New Castle Democratic Committee to give voters the opportunity to decide in a primary who would represent the Democrats. His request was unanimously rejected.

Two years ago, after Rob had already been Supervisor for two years, Rob approached the New Castle Democratic Committee about endorsing him. He said let’s put aside any personal acrimony for the benefit of the town. Let’s work together for the public good and our community. Rob hoped for support from his own party. Instead, he was rejected.

The New Castle Democratic Committee would only endorse Lisa Katz if she opposed Rob Greenstein. She refused. Lisa hoped for support from her own party. She was rejected.

The New Castle Democrats don’t believe residents should have the opportunity to choose the Democrats who will represent the party in a Primary. The Club doesn’t want them. Instead they hand pick candidates who have not shown any public service commitment to our Town. Where were they when the community was debating the biggest local issues facing our community…..Chappaqua Crossing and Conifer. Where were they when our comp plan started 5 years ago. Did they even attend any public outreach meetings?

Instead of giving residents a choice to choose the Democrats who will represent the party in a Primary, they chose to mislead. They know that Rob Greenstein and Lisa Katz are Democrats, Adam Brodsky is an independent, but they refer to us as Republicans. Their whole campaign strategy seems to be misleading residents by saying ‘We’re the Democrats, they’re the Republicans, vote for us”. Misleading residents is a sign that our opponents have nothing to run on.

They have time and again rejected the incumbent candidates who have done so much for the Town. Residents interests are subordinated to club politics.
