Flat Taxes – Saving Money – Increasing Services

From the day we took office, one of our top priorities was to make New Castle fiscally responsible. We have worked tirelessly so our property taxes will not cause our Town to become unaffordable to many young families, drive-out our seniors and empty nesters, and ultimately drive down our property values. We have crafted budgets that provide our residents with the essential municipal services they expect and deserve.  We are funding our $14.8M Chappaqua Downtown Revitalization.  All while staying within the tax cap – every single year!

Saved $4,000,000!
• $3,300,000 over 7 years for our refuse contract.
• $1,000,000 over 4 years for our workers compensation renewal (based on 2013-4 premium)
• $40,000 on our liability insurance renewal
• Reduced legal expenses which hit an astronomical high of $1.5 million in 2012

Kept taxes flat
• 2015 – $9 per average household increase – lowest tax increase – by far – in 6 years
• 2016 – $20 per average householdincrease
• 2017 – $28 per average household increase
• 2018 – $23 increase per average household (Tentative Budget)

Spent $3,000,000 on road paving
• 2015 – $1,014,455 -more than in the three prior yearscombined!
• 2016 – $897,026
• 2017 – $822,452
• 2018 – $922,000 for 2018 (Tentative Budget)

We are providing the services our residents expect, restoring our infrastructure to conditions our residents deserve, all while keeping taxes essentially flat.
