When we ran four years ago, we stated we will help to revitalize our downtown business districts. We’ve long advocated the importance of improving our downtown business districts while maintaining the quaint & small town feel. A vibrant downtown attracts new businesses and enhances the quality of life for residents
For years before becoming Supervisor, Rob was advocating for the need to revitalize New Castle’s downtown business districts and the need for a Chamber of Commerce. Rob formed the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce in 2012. The Chamber is now a staple in the Community. We helped recruit DeCicco & Sons to Millwood. Millwood Plaza has never been so vibrant! Click here to watch Rob’s roundtable discussion “Enhancing Our Business Districts”.
Downtown Infrastructure & streetscape project has started! Adam is leading this massive effort to make downtown Chappaqua a place where the community comes together and businesses thrive. Residents can look forward to seeing new, wider sidewalks, attractive new public spaces, and charming details throughout. The streetscape work will include new crosswalks and traffic/parking improvements that will make it safer and enhance walkability in our downtown. He has worked tirelessly on creating a sustaining, attractive, healthy and vibrant downtown that enhances the quality of life for residents.

We adopted our Award Winning Comprehensive Plan. Our Award Winning Comprehensive Plan includes plans to address the creation of an Economic Development Unit &/or Business Improvement District to assist property owners, and support local business community. Our adopted Comprehensive Plan includes plans to explore opportunities to diversify retail mix in hamlets and provide a wide range of goods that meet the needs of the community. We will increase availability of recreational programming and facilities. For the first time the Town Board will be positioning the Millwood Business District for sewers which will increase the vibrancy of the Millwood Business Districts. We will be updating design standards.
We already hired Pace Land Use Law Center to make recommendations for a Downtown Chappaqua and Millwood Revitalization Strategies. We will study alternatives that are consistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan.
We have a steadfast commitment to our business districts. We are Getting it Done!
